Covid-19 and the VA
We received the following from a shipmate:
For
those eligible for TRICARE see below for the TRICARE message.
"I went to the VA for an appointment and
they asked if I wanted the COVID vaccine. Some VA facilities
are scheduling appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine. I just
made my appointment for Mar 22nd and Apr 12. Our shipmates that
receive or want VA Healthcare should contact their local VA
health clinic."
Editor's Note: Although I have never sought any VA benefits, I felt it was worth a shot. Without an appointment, I went to the local VA Clinic and obtained the necessary paperwork. I completed the documents and was asked if I intended to seek full medical benefits to which I replied "No, just the Covid vaccine." Locally, they were out of the vaccine and I was placed on the waiting list. I see this as an additional medical opportunity for us. The 3-page form is available from the Ship's Office. |
