Thirty years ago on this date, at 0911 the Colors and Union Jack of the USS RICH (DD 820) were hauled down for the last time and our ship was officially decommissioned from the Navy of the United States of America.  A sad day, indeed.  Though the steel and paint is gone, the RICH Spirit is alive and well in the hearts of the men who crewed her.
