Going... Going... Sold!

One of the highlights of our annual reunions is the auction.  This event goes a long way in keeping the cost of the reunions affordable to most anyone.

The success of the auctions can be attributed to a variety of factors which begins with the quality of items being auctioned.  Commercial items are typically new and in original packaging.  But... the crème de la crème are those handmade and handcrafted by our shipmates, wives and family members.

Quilts, quilows and throws rank right up there, all of which fetch handsome amounts along with exquisitely crafted wood items.  Tables, benches and objects d'art are year-long efforts which are brought to the reunions and sold by our professional auctioneer, H. Barry Smith (BM3 64-65).

Reunion 2016 was a record-setting event which included two noteworthy records:

       1. Yielded the highest auction income in our history
       2. Yielded the highest price for a single item (shown below)
