Ahoy Shipmates— It’s likely there is no one in North America who isn’t aware of the devastation reeked upon Houston, Texas and surrounding communities and states by Hurricane Harvey. The total devastation may not be known for some time and recovery will be long, painful and expensive. We want you to help. The USS RICH crews, historically, have been “Can Do” crews. Always on station and ready to work. The work we can do is in the form of financial assistance to those affected by helping provide food, clothing, temporary shelter and rebuilding lives. We’re asking every shipmate to donate $8.20, a symbolic amount which when totaled, will provide an amount sufficient to help the cause. All the funds will be forwarded to the Orange, Texas American Red Cross Chapter. Orange, you may recall, is the birthplace of the USS RICH. The deadline to contribute is September 30th. You may donate here or alternatively send a $8.20 check payable to USS Rich Association clearly marked “Harvey Disaster Relief”. Thank you Shipmates!
