Ship's Photos

With the age of the ship, few if any photos still have a copyright but don't fail to look for one or any other evidence that someone is claiming ownership.  Being diligent will be it's own reward.  That said, here are some image resources that are likely to provide you with the picture you want whether is be pre-FRAM or not.

Thoughts on printing...

Okay... you've found and downloaded the photo(s) you want.  Now what?                        (If quality is important, this is worth reading)

If you are very knowledgeable about your printer you probably already know if it will provide the quality you desire.  Printing text as opposed to images can be world's apart.  To begin with, most of us have purchased entry-level printers which are seldom up to the task of printing good quality, high density color images.  Given the age of the ship's photos you're likely to find, there is likely to be a noticeable absence of quality.  This means you probably want to maintain whatever quality you can get.  Here's the bottom line:  Your printer probably won't do the job you hoped for.  BUT... don't despair, Bunky... there's good news ahead.

An inexpensive solution is probably at the corner.  You can email or put your image on a CD/DVD/Thumb Drive and carry it to [***See suggestions below***]  and few a few lousy bucks you can get a quality image that will look great until your great grandson goes to college. (Really!)  If you select WalMart you can buy a cheap frame while your there.

Partial list of business who will quality print your picture at a decent price (Not in any particular order)
CVS - WalMart - Target - UPS Store - FedEx Office (formerly Kinko's) - Walgreen's - Amazon
Google "Digital Photo Printing" for shops in your community.
