James Paul Joseph Lawton, Sr.
April 30,1939 - March 4, 2005

James P.J. Lawton Sr. passed away at home on March 4, 2005 after a brief illness.

James was born April 30, 1939 in Bath, New York, spending his youth in Greene, New York. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving 20 years, retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer in 1976. He retired from General Dynamics, Electric Boat, Groton Connecticut in 1994.

James is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sandra; Three children, James Jr. of Newbury Park, California, Donna Vogel of Westerly, Rhode Island, and Barbara Lawton of Jacksonville, Florida, a brother Timothy Lawton of Indian Harbour Beach, Florida and six wonderful grandchildren.

James was an active community volunteer with the Meal on Wheels and Habitat for Humanity along with other organization. James always felt that society gave a lot to him therefore he tried to give something back.  His other interest included computers and playing poker.
