Geedunk

To most sailors, the word geedunk means ice cream, candy, potato chips and other assorted snacks, or even the place where they can be purchased. (Not to be confused with the "Roach Coach").  "Geedunk" is also the sound made by a vending machine when it disposes a soft drink in the cup.

Below listed is a fairly accurate accounting of the geedunk consumed at the 2005 Annual Reunion.  Bear in mind this does not include any food eaten at any of the three furnished evening meals.

Food/Snacks:
  • 53 pounds of hotdogs
  • 500 hotdog buns
  • 20# nuts
  • 12½# potato chips
  • 72 - ½ gallon bags microwave popcorn
  • 4# Tostitos
  • 4# Fritos
  • 5# assorted cheeses
  • 180 cups of coffee
Beverages:
  • 66 cases of beer
  • 20 cases of soft drinks
  • 12 gallons of wine
  • 29 liters of mixers
  • 5 gallons fresh juice
  • 6 liters liqueur
Not too shabby for such a sedate group, eh?  (snicker)
